The open sides of the Evacu-Trac are designed for people with limited mobility. This design also assists transfer from a wheelchair. The passenger is secured by Velcro straps which wrap around the torso and lower legs.
 
The Evacu-Trac is completely stable and self-supporting on flat surfaces and during descent. Its patented descent speed governor and braking system allows a small attendant to easily evacuate a larger person securely and maintain full control. The durable rubber tracks firmly grip the stairs and the safety brake can stop the unit on the stairs if necessary.
